This game reinforces number recognition and the concept of higher and lower numbers. Face-Off Face-Off is a classic math game known more traditionally as “war”. Materials needed: 1) Deck of cards(1-10 with Ace=1and pulling out the face cards) Instructions: To be played with two players. 1) Divide the deck in half and turn each stack of cards down in front of each player. 2) One player says, Face-Off and each player turns over a card. Which ever player has the card with the greatest number wins that round and takes both cards and places them face down at the bottom of their stack of cards. 3) Players take turns calling Face-Off and game continues. 4) If both players turn over the same number, this is then a special Face-Off. Each player takes three of their cards and keeping them face down, place them under the first card they played. Then each player takes one card and turn it over. Whichever player has the greatest number, wins all the cards. (If these cards are tied as well, the players put down three more cards, then turn one more over until one player wins.) 5)The game continues until a designated time and which ever player has the most cards wins or the game continues until one player is out of cards and the player with all the cards wins. Tic Tac ToeThis game helps with spatial reasoning, strategic planning and problem solving. Watch the video below for how to play.
